Sunlight, Pillars, Tatami Mats and Organic Architecture

I have always found the pillar and ceiling design at the Terminal 2 airport in Mumbai (pic) very beautiful. While there are other designs that use sunlight in even better ways, these structures are wow.
And yesterday, I came across this clip (link) about Tatami, traditional Japanese floor mats, that I thought was similarly fascinating.
How Kenji Yamada visits his exhibit venues months in advance to study how light falls, so as to use that information to create better patterns, reminds me of reading about American architect Frank Lloyd Wright, whose approach to architecture stemmed from his philosophy of “organic architecture,” where buildings were meant to harmonize with their natural surroundings and the people who lived in them.
